The security of all data is very important. Therefore, the oftalmologiaromana.ro server is located in Romania, and our data processors for technical, hardware, and software support are located in the European Union.

Our procedures regarding personal data protection, organizational and technical measures are structured to ensure the confidentiality and security of personal data and all the information in our care. We periodically verify the adequacy of the implemented measures.

If you wish to send us a message through the site, the information for which you are asked to complete fields such as name, email, communication content, attachments, or other information you choose to provide will also be collected.

Content Provided by Users/Participants for the Registration of Works at the Congresses of the Romanian Society of Ophthalmology

Data regarding registered works. All data you register concerning works will become the property of the Romanian Society of Ophthalmology. The Romanian Society of Ophthalmology will recognize the copyright of all persons specified as authors, co-authors. This data is collected for the evaluation of the works. If, when registering the works, you provide personal data of other persons, you are responsible for obtaining their permission regarding this registration. For the registration of works, the following data is collected: name, surname, professional grade, email, phone, academic title, the status of the person registering, other authors (for whom the same data is collected), the abstract in Romanian, the abstract in English of the work.

Rules for Users/Participants at the Congresses of the Romanian Society of Ophthalmology

Participants in events organized by the Romanian Society of Ophthalmology will register at the event secretariat, where they will receive identification elements for access to the exhibition areas and the rooms where the registered works will be presented. Participants in events organized by SRO will keep the user identification elements throughout the event and afterwards to download the participation certificate from the Society’s website after the event and correlate the data registered at the event secretariat.

Participants in events organized by SRO are not allowed to photograph/film/record/transmit/publish on social networks images or real-time recordings from the presentations they come into contact with during the event.

In case of non-attendance/non-registration at the event secretariat, participation certificates will not be issued. At the members’ request, the participation fee can be refunded to the account from which the payment was made following a written communication from the user, communication which must be accompanied by a photocopy of the document confirming the payment made.

How We Use Personal Data Personal data related to contacts can be consulted by members of the Romanian Society of Ophthalmology team or www.oftalmologiaromana.ro only to the extent strictly necessary for initiating and maintaining contact with the contacts in question, for executing contracts, for hosting or facilitating event hosting, as well as for other purposes arising from obligations stemming from laws, contracts, or fair practices.

We consider the context in which the personal data was collected, especially regarding the relationship between the data subjects and us, as well as possible consequences on the data subjects.

We inform professional medical bodies about the participation of doctors in events organized by the Romanian Society of Ophthalmology and its partners, access to documentation resources, use of personal data without which the allocation of professional training points for doctors would be impossible.

The Legal Basis for Processing Personal Data We process the personal data of contacts based on consent, the contract concluded with us or fair practices, as well as for fulfilling our legal obligations.

Data Retention Personal data will be retained by us only as long as necessary for processing purposes, as well as, of course, according to legal or contractual requirements.
